What happens to a society when tenderness becomes inaccessible, and when neglected people begin to pass their neglect onto others?

Aggravated & Uncared For is a series of narrative paintings exploring emotional neglect, social exhaustion, and casual cruelty within working-class urban life.

The title refers both to emotional abandonment and to the escalation of harm that follows it. The works function as portraits of people who have been failed by one another, and who in turn become small agents of deterioration within the social world around them.

Though the imagery can be darkly humorous, the underlying focus remains deeply human: the fragile systems of trust, intimacy, and ordinary public life that hold communities together — and the small ways they are undone.
